BFD depends heavily upon volunteers to serve in firefighting, scene-support, and administrative roles.

Why Join & Benefits

Making a difference in your community is its own reward, but joining our team can also give you access to some exciting benefits as well.

Explorers Program

The Brighton Fire Department Explorer Post 513 offers life experience, community service scholarship opportunities and more for boys and girls ages 14-18.

College

Are you a firefighter and a student attending college in the Rochester area? If so then the Brighton Fire Department has a Live-In/Bunker Program that you may be interested in.

Each year, BFD’s volunteers commit thousands of hours to train and respond to help neighbors and strangers alike in their time of need.

These volunteers save our taxpayers millions of dollars annually in payroll costs.  However, our costs for recruiting, training, retaining, equipping, and insuring our volunteers increase substantially.

Please consider making a one-time or recurring donation to support the ongoing volunteer programs and services of the Brighton Fire Department, Inc.
